In a world of increasing partnerships, the latest has 3CX and snom technology AG working together to provide an integrated VoIP solution for small and medium businesses.
The partnership will yield a VoIP solution that combines 3CX’s software-based IP PBX for Windows with snom’s VoIP-based products. The system is designed to replace traditional proprietary hardware PBXs with a VoIP system based on ease of installation and management as well as reliability and an affordable price.
“We are delighted to confirm 3CX IP PBX interoperability with snom VoIP products,†said Nick Galea, 3CX CEO. “Companies can now implement a complete and reliable software-based IP PBX solution that is more manageable and scaleable than traditional PBXs and also costs a fraction of the price, whilst delivering more features.â€
The system will help give employees mobility, eliminate costly phone tag and reduce administration and training time by IT staff, according to a press release.
“Interoperability is extremely important in the world of VoIP nowadays and we are pleased to have completed all the required tests to secure that snom and 3CX can offer the SMB market an excellent value and innovative solution that poses no instability risks to businesses,†said Michael Knieling, executive VP of marketing and sales, snom technology AG.
3CX has recently been noted for working to overcome firewall issues with SIP-based VoIP implementations, specifically those that use network address translation. 3CX’s solution is its new “tunneling†functionality, which is designed to function within SIP standards by routing all VoIP calls through one port.
“Even SMBs have firewalls. Once they install a router they are going to need to look at that aspect,” said Galea. “We make that a lot easier with this tunneling. With VoIP out of the box, working on SIP requires a lot of ports. It’s a little bit chatty. What we have done is to bring it all down to one port, whilst maintaining our compatibility with the SIP standards.”
