With VoIP service providers and equipment makers targeting small and medium businesses, MegaPath has upped its offerings for business customers.

The company’s Duet voice and data service supports digital PBX and IP PBX systems. The service has added primary rate interface and session initiation protocol trunk interfaces. MegaPath added the additional protection and ability to choose the PBX system that suits their business best.

For a flat monthly fee, Duet customers have up to 24 phone lines and 1.5 Mbps Internet service over a T1 circuit, as well as unlimited calling and all the expected bells and whistles (Caller ID, call waiting, 411, E911 and directory listings). Duet boasts its all-optical nationwide network provides “unmatched performance and reliability.” In order to boost call quality, Duet’s voice service travels on a private circuit, not via Internet, and is prioritized over data traffic.
