It does sound like an odd combination. But natural cosmetics manufacturer Lush has pegged VoIP as the best communications system to keep its stores in touch, improve sales and increase security.
Lush adopted a VoIP system in order to reduce costs of store-to-store and store-to-headquarters calls, increase security for customer’s data and increase its ability to process data, making checkout smoother for customers.
Lush says the system should be online by late 2008, and an upgraded internal messaging service will be in place by this summer. Further upgrades could be in the works, too.
“We are also looking into the possibility of using online timesheets at some point in 2009,” said Lush retail systems manager Chris Risbey.
It’s one more brick in the road toward more and more businesses adopting VoIP for internal communications. With the versatility and low cost that VoIP offers, it makes sense for companies of all sizes to look to VoIP for high functionality in communications.
