Clare, a manufacturer of solid-state relays and high voltage integrated circuits, announced the availability of its CPC5712, a phone line monitor with detectors integrated circuit. The PLMD is designed for use in high-voltage telephony applications including VoIP gateways and IP PBXs.
The CPC5712 operates by monitoring input, and derives two programmable signal-level detects: polarity information and the buffered phone line signal itself. Clare claims the PLMD “offers improved detector accuracy and performance including lower power dissipation as well as a high degree of integration†with its high-impedance divider. The circuit is claimed to be undetectable.
Designed for use alone for phone line monitoring applications or together with Clare’s LITELINK phone line interface, the CPC5712 requires few external components and is reportedly excellent for phone line sensing in noisy environments.
“By leveraging Clare’s core telephony competency and LITELINK silicon DAA technology, the CPC5712 delivers a superior solution to designers of telephone network interfaces,” said Mark Heisig, General Manager and Vice-President of Clare.
The CPC5712 is available in a small QSOP 16-lead package, in sample and product quantities.
Clare is a subsidiary of IXYS Corp. and located in Beverly, Mass.
