Another maker of VoIP equipment is eyeing the North American market: Joining the fray is snom, whose service will be distributed through Gentek in the United States and Canada.
snom offers four phone models, the 300, 320, 360 and 370. The configurable phones feature a keypad-cursor, programmable keys and downloadable ringtones. snom phones offer implementation of the IETF’s latest recommendations for standards-based authentication and content security (SIP(s)/sRTP), according to VoIPMonitor.
“This distribution agreement is an integral part of our strategy to offer our customers high quality VoIP options,” said Jeffrey Freedman, vice president of sales at Gentek. “snom’s outstanding reputation, especially when it comes to ensuring VoIP security and network interoperability, puts us in a position to provide our customers with a flexible and cost-effective solution for their IP phone systems.”
The Toronto-based Gentek supplies broadband, network security and VoIP products, tech support and service.
Global companies looking to cash in on the North American market is just another sign of the thriving health of the VoIP industry. Not that anyone still looks at VoIP as a flash in the pan, not anymore.
As more and more consumers and small businesses switch to Voice over IP phones, it’s important to have a selection of products and equipment to fit every user. With more choices than ever, the VoIP user can enjoy the wide offerings of such a competitive market.
