i2Telecom International, Inc., received a patent for its portable VoIP Service Access Module, called VoiceStick®.
i2Telecom, a developer of VoIP products, now holds U.S. Patent #7,336,654 for the VoiceStick; the protection encompasses 30 claims until 2025.
The VoiceStick is a small, portable USB device and allows users to make long distance calls over the Internet, both domestic and international. A headset is included with the VoiceStick, which works on desktop and laptop computers, PDAs and other devices with USB capability. Once plugged in, the VoiceStick prompts a dial pad to appear on the display or monitor.
“Securing this patent validates the outstanding efforts of everyone internally who developed the technology,” said Paul Arena, chairman and CEO of i2Telecom. “Our innovative team has redefined the term “user-friendly” in the world of VoIP services, through our exciting VoiceStick® device, which enables users to make calls anywhere in the world over the i2Telecom network on a very cost-effective basis.”
