VoIP is gaining popularity in Canada, according to reports, with demand for the service at an “all-time high.â€
“The demand for VoIP has not only been overwhelming for service providers, but for gadget providers as well. We are already way past our sales target for the year, and the trend is very promising. The number of companies, home-based business and ordinary individuals coming to us for their VoIP needs have grown substantially,” said VoIPGizmos founder Alex Kovalenko.
The increase in demand has actually reached a point where service providers are scrambling to meet “overwhelming†requests for hardware and services. The requests are coming from home users as well as owners of businesses of all sizes. Current market penetration is estimated at 1 in 12 according to VoIPGizmos.
New VoIP users state cost savings as the number one reason to switch to IP-based phone systems, but also list unified communications, business-friendly features and tools, and ease of use.
Canada’s geography may contribute in part to the demand, with its population scattered over a vast expanse of land and many remote communities.
